Colored in Coral

I decided to dress in color and it was funny because everyone on the Upper East Side seemed to be wearing the gray-scale and completely casual. Sometimes it is not so bad to stand out, and wearing this ModCloth.com dress was a bold move of mine. If you are going to wear color you better be prepared to wear it with confidence. That I did as I sipped my delightful champagne and ate at the outdoor seating of a french restaurant.

Well today was just a lovely afternoon as I celebrated yet another friend’s Aries birthday. The restaurant Jones Wood Foundry is a lovely wine and beer bar on the Upper East Side with a beautiful restaurant in the back which has multiple rooms with different character feel in each. We were one of the first to be sitting in the outdoor seating since it finally just started to get warmer. We had Sancerre, the Fish n Chips and the Salmon Burger. I’m wearing a Vince white blazer, and H&M Blue Dress and MIA snakeskin heels which I think are a fabulous design.

I love Chelsea for its charm, dining, speakeasy’s and the overall artistic vibe. I appreciate when business owners try to be unique, different and classy, and so many entrepreneurs have done just that to make this a great neighborhood. Although I live on the Upper East Side, my outfit seemed to do me well as an understated blend of “look at me if you want to notice” instead of “LOOK AT ME”. I find it funny that whenever I have a guy take my photos they don’t take the full body of my feet, but you get a little peak at my shoes. I’m wearing one of my favorite BCBG Maxazria blazers mixed with my grandmother’s silk pink button up top, brown corduroys and strappy leather and brown platforms.

EYE-GASM Shoes from Barneys

Image-1-18Image-1-19I am in love, hands down, with these gorgeous shoes. I love how the slit in the front gives the illusion of a lengthened leg and pairs so well with these skinnies. Barneys is by far such a classic place to go for top designer brands and these are the Gionvitto Rossi split-front ankle boots that are delightful. Add this to your closet to have a staple shoe that will make any basic outfit stand out as fashionably chic. These photos were taken at a really interesting Upper East Side hotel lobby at the Mark hotel, a luxury 5 star place through and through.

I had a giftcard to Bloomingdales and I had just finished lunch with my good friend Sandra in the dining cart restaurant inside the department store. I was definitely eager to find a new pair of shoes since I had clearly over-warn my old shoes featured in the right hand side of the first photo. I walked around the entirety of the shoe floor three times over and was not pulled to any brands or designers. However, these caught my eye every time and I just had to buy them. I found them online at Bloomgindales.com called the VIA SPIGA POINTED TOE MULE SLIDE PUMPS – DAHLIA SNAKE EMBOSSED HIGH HEEL. Let me just tell you that I am in love and I just left my old shoes behind because these are my new loved pair. The interesting carpet was when I went to an event on the Upper East Side right after and got a glass of wine at the Mark hotel.
